Facebook Ads Agency NZ

Facebook & Instagram ads that turn a profit

Facebook ads put your business in front of customers on the platforms where New Zealanders still spend most of their social time: Facebook and Instagram, both run through Meta's ad system. Done right, they turn a profit. Done badly, they burn budget on vanity metrics. The difference is tight tracking, strong creative and honesty about what's working.

Where Meta Ads fit in your marketing

Meta earns its place as one part of a broader plan, not a standalone tactic. Google Ads captures people already searching for what you sell; Meta does the opposite job, putting your product in front of people who weren't looking but match the profile of those who buy. Add SEO and email and you have a system: Meta creates the demand, the other channels capture and keep it. For ecommerce brands especially, that's how new customers get created rather than fought over, which is why we plan the channels together rather than in isolation.

The platform has changed shape. Detailed interest targeting has given way to Meta's own machine learning: campaigns like Advantage+ Shopping decide who sees your ads based on the conversion data you feed them. That makes two things decisive. The signal, meaning your pixel and Conversions API setup actually reporting sales correctly. And the creative, which is now effectively the targeting.

That's where we earn our keep. Because the same team also runs your Google Ads, SEO and email, we wire the signal up properly and build the creative from what actually converts in your accounts, not guesswork. Run that way, we've seen Meta go from a channel that quietly drains budget to a profitable, measurable engine for new customers, judged on real revenue rather than reach.

We'll also say the quiet part: Meta's reporting flatters itself. Its attribution takes generous credit, and plenty of agencies pass that flattery on. We reconcile Meta's numbers against GA4 and your actual revenue, and we report the honest figure.

What we do

Our Facebook & Instagram ad services

Meta sits inside our wider social media advertising work, and pairs with Google Ads and SEO for full-funnel coverage. What makes it work is the same team running all of it: senior specialists who build from real conversion data, wire the tracking up properly and report the honest number, not Meta's flattering one.

Meta, Facebook and Instagram advertising services
Campaign strategy & structure
We build accounts around how Meta's machine learning actually works now: consolidated campaigns, clean conversion signals and Advantage+ where it earns its place, instead of the fragmented interest-targeting structures that stopped working years ago.
Creative testing
On Meta, creative is the targeting. We run a disciplined testing cadence across formats, hooks and angles for both Facebook and Instagram placements, kill losers quickly, and scale what the data backs. In our experience Reels tend to punch above their weight, especially rough, smartphone-shot video with the owner behind the camera rather than a polished studio ad. You'll always know which ad is earning and which was just pretty.
Tracking & Conversions API
Half the underperforming accounts we inherit have broken measurement, which starves the bidding of signal. We implement the Meta pixel and Conversions API properly, deduplicated and verified against GA4, so the machine learns from real sales rather than noise.
Audiences & retargeting
Your customer lists, site visitors and engaged audiences still matter for retargeting, exclusions and seeding new campaigns. We build them from your actual data, keep them refreshed automatically, and make sure you're not paying to re-win customers who already bought.

Instagram advertising

Instagram ads are paid placements in the Instagram feed, Stories, Reels and Explore, run from the same Meta ads account as Facebook. You don't need a separate campaign, separate budget or separate agency for Instagram. One system serves both platforms and shifts spend toward whichever placement is producing.

For some businesses, Instagram is the lead platform rather than the second placement. Beauty, fashion, food, fitness and homeware brands sell in categories people actively browse on Instagram, and creative made natively for Reels and Stories reaches those shoppers at their most receptive. If that's your market, we plan the creative Instagram-first and let Facebook play the supporting role.

What Instagram advertising rewards is creative that belongs there: vertical and native to the format, not a resized Facebook ad. We produce and test per placement, and we report Instagram's contribution separately, so you know what the platform is earning rather than just what it's spending.

We've mastered your ad tech

Meta performance depends on everything connected to the account: the pixel and Conversions API feeding it signal, the GA4 property telling you the truth about what converted, and the product feed if you're running catalogue ads from Shopify or another CMS.

We manage that full stack alongside the ads themselves, because a beautifully-run campaign on broken tracking is still a badly-run campaign.

How our Meta ads management works

01
Discovery

We get to know your business, your margins and what a profitable customer is worth. Meta strategy differs completely between a $40 product and a $4,000 service, so we start there.

02
Foundations

Tracking first: pixel, Conversions API and GA4 verified before scaling spend. Then account structure and the opening creative set, built from what your market is already responding to.

03
Test & scale

Creative tests run on a steady cadence, budgets follow the evidence, and campaigns consolidate as winners emerge. Scaling is gradual and measured, because shocking the account resets its learning.

04
Reporting

You'll see spend, revenue and the trend honestly reconciled, plus what we tested and what we learned. Monthly as standard, with a call whenever you want one.

Frequently asked questions

How Meta, Facebook and Instagram advertising actually works for NZ businesses.

Yes. Facebook ads, Instagram ads and Meta ads all run through the same system: Meta's ad platform, one account, one auction, with your ads placed across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Meta's partner network based on performance. The company renamed itself Meta in 2021 but most people, sensibly, still call them Facebook ads. Whatever the name, the job is the same: profitable customers, tracked properly.
Yes, and dismissing Facebook is one of the more expensive mistakes NZ advertisers make. Its audience skews older than Instagram's, which for many businesses is exactly where the buying power sits. In practice you rarely choose: Meta serves your ads to whichever placement performs, and the Facebook feed regularly wins on cost per sale even for brands who think of themselves as Instagram-first.
Both, from one campaign, and let performance decide the split. Meta's delivery system moves budget toward the placements producing results, and restricting placements usually just raises your costs. Where the real work lies is creative: an ad built for Reels needs different framing, pacing and text than a feed ad, and we produce for the formats rather than forcing one asset everywhere.
Enough for the system to learn, which for most NZ businesses means at least $1,500 to $3,000 a month in media spend, scaling with evidence from there. Below that, campaigns exit the learning phase slowly and results are noisy. We'll tell you honestly if your budget is better spent elsewhere first. Sometimes it is.
The Conversions API sends conversion data to Meta directly from your server, alongside the browser pixel that privacy features and ad blockers increasingly disrupt. With both running deduplicated, Meta sees more of your real sales, bids with better signal and reports closer to the truth. For any store spending meaningfully, it's not optional anymore. We set it up as standard.
Because they count differently. Meta claims conversions from views and clicks across a longer window, on top of modelled estimates. GA4 mostly credits the last click. The truth sits between them, and the practical answer is watching blended results: total revenue against total spend, trending over time. That's how we report, so nobody is grading their own homework.
